Prayers Needed

We are in real need of prayer this week. Dan's having a lot of confusion and he is not able to stay awake. His doctors changed his steroid in an effort to get him on a less damaging one, but it has sent him into a major set back. We started his old steroid back at a high dose last night in an effort to "re-boot" his brain. He will have a fast taper to get him to a more tolerable dose as quickly as possible.

From what I understand the brain needs 2 main things to function (glucose and steroid). Apparently, Dan's body no longer makes a natural form of steroid due to his chemo and radiation. So he requires the medication to keep everything working. We are in hopes that this will do the trick.

As I mentioned in my last post Dan will have his 2 scans (PET and MRI) this week. We are very anxious to get a clean report. Until then, please continue to hold Dan up to the Lord in prayer. We surrender this situation to Jesus and look forward to the revelation of God's plan for us (in the knowledge that He loves us perfectly).

Thank you for your continued support.

Love,
Leah

Dan,

You are in my prayers. You will struggle and you will fight but as always you will win. I Love you and you are in my constant thoughts. We are with you no matter the distance we travel. Leah, hold him tight and share all the love as you always do...that's what help makes the difference in our manly ego infused souls. Hope to see you soon and I miss you all.

Love,

Brian

Guys, we will pray specifically this week for the quick work of the steriod. We will also continue to pray for clean reports on the PET & MRI scans and that you will have a peaceful holiday season. Please know all of us in Celebration are truly a phone call away if you need ANYTHING! The kids are growing like weeds. Tell Mary Katherine I can't believe she's 8 already and if she's ever in Celebration on a 2nd Sunday, come to Comm Pres and sing with Kids Khoir. Ross too - he's probably old enough now! We love you and will keep praying!

Barbara and I (Barbara and John Newsome from Community Presbyterian in Celebration) think of you all often and remember you in our prayers. Two in our immediate family have faced brain turmors and treatments since we moved to Celebration in 1996. We understand the nature of such challenges and are moved by your strong fight and faith. May God grant you the healing you seek and His peace during these difficult times in treatment.
